3. Dinotopia. It was the first book I ever remember being able to read myself. It taught me to read and write cursive aswell. I have always loved dinosaurs and I believe it was stuck fast thanks to James Gurneys amazing artwork, both his painting and his story telling.
20. Humbolt Squid. They’re like the velociraptors of the sea. Pack hunting squid bigger than a man that coordinate attacks, swim at up to 24 kms an hour, grow to full size in a year and live in swarms of up to 1,200. They have two reactions to something unfamiliar in their environment: Immediate aggressive violence, or curiosity then aggressive violence. Also their natural distribution is expanding due to global warming. Thank god I live in Australia where I don’t have to worry about them.
